Small Business: How to Win Government Contracts
Taught by the Director of the Springfield Procurement and Technical Assistance Center/Small Business Innovative Research, Missouri University of Science and Technology, this class is for people planning to own a private business who want to learn how to win contracts with the government.  Recommend you first attend the 3 Starting a Business classes the ACAP Center hosts.  The class includes: business start-up financial assistance; registration procedures, certifications required for socio-economic categories such as service-disabled veteran owned small business; marketing opportunities to sell to the government; types of solicitations and how to evaluate them for bids most common types of contract awards; grant money for innovative ideas of interest to the military/government through Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technical Transfer (STTR). After class, the instructor is available for personal counseling sessions for those registered. Military & dependants – No Charge.
