Welcome Packets are available to all military personnel, family members, civilians, reservist soldiers on annual training and individuals on temporary duty (TDY) status. The relocation staff can answer your questions or refer you to the proper agencies to best meet your needs.

 
MilitaryHome Front

MilitaryHome Front is a computerized information system which provides service members with worldwide relocation information on major military installations. The MilitaryHome Front program is continually updated and provides ready access to phone numbers, quarantine information, tax and license information, as well as educational, housing, and employment opportunities and requirements.

Newcomers' Orientation

Is held the third Wednesday of the month from 8:30 am - 12:30 pm, January-November, at the Pershing Community Center, Bldg 4109 Piney Hills Dr. All newly assigned military (O-4 and below) are required to attend. An optional bus tour of Fort Leonard Wood is offered from 1:00 - 2:30 pm. For more information click here!
 

Overseas Briefings

Are provided to service members who are PCSing overseas. These briefings are mandatory for personnel E-5 and below. The Overseas Briefing provides beneficial knowledge on necessary specified topics to decrease difficulties in adjusting to the overseas relocation. Personnel are given information about transporting personal items, plane tickets, relocation services, Army Community Service, and allow viewing of videos about the tour of duty.
 
Country Specific Overseas Orientation
 
Preparing for your tour of duty overseas? A move overseas can be particularly difficult. A little understanding or back ground information can often mean an easier transition from your current location to your new home. Come learn helpful tips for your journey.
 
Germany- 1st week of each month
Korea-2nd week of each month
Alaska- 3rd week of each month
Hawaii- 4th week of each month
 

Hearts Apart

The Hearts Apart Program offers support for waiting Families by linking Family members and children with other Families who are left behind due to the sponsor's mission requirements. Spouses have the opportuniy to informally meet others in the same situation, share information and fun activities with each other, learn from experts on a wide range of topics, learn how to more easily manage the time apart and cope with stress.

 

Lending Closet

Provides a 30 day temporary use of household items such as dishes, pots and pans, utensils, cribs, highchairs, portable mattresses, etc., for use while awaiting delivery of your household goods or after shipment of goods prior to PCS.
