The Family Readiness Group (FRG) is an
officially command-sponsored organization of family members, volunteers, and
Soldiers belonging to a unit, that together provide an avenue of mutual support
and assistance, and a network of communications among the family members, the
chain of command, and community resources. FRGs help create a climate of mutual
support within the unit and community. Basic FRG goals include supporting the
military mission through provision of support, outreach, and information to
family members. FRGs play an integral part in the Family and Soldier Readiness
System (FSRS).
For more information on Family Readiness Groups click here
FRG
training is held the 2nd Wednesday of each month, September through
May at the Pershing Community Center.

- You
spend every day trying to find enough time for everything—your family, the
mission, your community, your life. Whether you’re trying to find child care,
trying to get out of debt, coping with a family
problem or personal issue that’s weighing you down at home or at work, or just
dealing with the ups and downs of everyday life, sometimes it can seem as if
there’s too much for you to handle. That’s why the U.S. Army provides the Army
One Source program—a pre-paid Soldier and family resource program to help you
run your life a little more smoothly. Army One Source can help make it easier
by giving you contacts, information, and practical solutions. And Army One
Source is easy for you to access, on the phone or online, with one-on-one
consultations, articles, seminars, workshops and much more. All at no cost to
you.
- All private. Army One Source provides
experienced consultants to talk with when you have a question; an award-winning
Web site with online articles, locators, and much more; pre-paid booklets, audio
recordings, and other materials; referrals to resources and services in your
community; and a commitment to always being there when you have a question or
need help.

- Military
Family Development Program
This very new outreach program was inspired by
a grassroots effort within the Fort Leonard Wood community. As Fort Leonard Wood
expands, there is a demand for a multitude of services. The committee is made up
of volunteers in the community as well as staff members from Army Community
Service (ACS). The task this committee has undertaken is to recognize and
address issues that affect the daily lives of those within the Fort Leonard Wood
Community. The overall goal is to achieve a working relationship between
military personnel and the families of the personnel by providing an informal
network of information and support. This network will primarily target spouses
of drill sergeants, sergeant and below, and unaccompanied spouses, but all will
benefit from these efforts.
