The Family Readiness Group (FRG) is an officially command-sponsored organization of family members, volunteers, and Soldiers belonging to a unit, that together provide an avenue of mutual support and assistance, and a network of communications among the family members, the chain of command, and community resources. FRGs help create a climate of mutual support within the unit and community. Basic FRG goals include supporting the military mission through provision of support, outreach, and information to family members. FRGs play an integral part in the Family and Soldier Readiness System (FSRS). FRG training is held the 3rd Tuesday of each month from 0900-1500 at ACS, Bldg 486. | | | - Military Family Development Program
This very new outreach program was inspired by a grassroots effort within the Fort Leonard Wood community. As Fort Leonard Wood expands, there is a demand for a multitude of services. The committee is made up of volunteers in the community as well as staff members from Army Community Service (ACS). The task this committee has undertaken is to recognize and address issues that affect the daily lives of those within the Fort Leonard Wood Community. The overall goal is to achieve a working relationship between military personnel and the families of the personnel by providing an informal network of information and support. This network will primarily target spouses of drill sergeants, sergeant and below, and unaccompanied spouses, but all will benefit from these efforts.
