  REGISTRATION: TASTE OF THE ARTS GOES WILD (April 9)
Register for a wild evening of Artwork from local artists showcasing a variety of mediums and age categories from the Fort Leonard Wood community. The cost is only $5 per entry for adults and FREE for children K-4, 5-8, and 9-12 grade. Prizes will be awarded for the top 3 artists in each age category. The Art Show will be held April 9th at Piney Valley Golf Course from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm and there is no cost to view the art work. Enjoy beverage/food tastings/demonstrations and music provided by 399th Army Jazz Band and children of the SKIES program. Judging will take place prior to the event.  All art work entered must be originals and within the last year.  Art work must be dropped off at the MWR Frame Shop by April 2nd, categories are; Drawing, Painting, Sculpture, Photography (w/ 3 categories) and Motley. Davidson Fitness Center invites you to come out and bend some bars as we host our Fort Leonard Wood Spring Weightlifting Classic. REGISTRATION is OPEN for the MWR Spring Yard Sale: Whether you are getting rid of old treasures or looking for a bargain, you can do both at the Fort Leonard Wood Great Spring Cleaning Yard Sale! Sale will take place on May 2 from 8:00 am – 12:00 pm at the Baker Theater auxiliary parking lot. Cost is $15 if registered by May 1 at 3:00 pm / $20 day of, and includes double length parking lot size space and lots of advertising. Tables are available for $5 each and must be reserved in advance. Register online or at the Family & MWR Installation Wide Events Office, building 1000, suite 167 located on E. 19th Street. CYS Services Youth Sports and Fitness Coach Assisted Machine Pitch, Baseball, Softball and T-ball program begins May 11. Cost is $45 per participant, includes uniform and trophy. The Outdoor Adventure Center in partnership with the Missouri Department of Conservation will sponsor a Hunters Education Class from 5:00 pm – 10:00 pm. Family & MWR invites teens to join us for the MWR Flashlight Easter Egg Hunt. A unique twist on the traditional Easter Egg Hunt for teens 13 years and up! Think you’re too old to hunt Easter eggs?   Commander’s Golf Scramble
The Commander’s Golf Scramble will be hosted by the Piney Valley Golf Course with a shotgun start at 12:00 pm. Scramble consists of a 4 person team; cost is $30 for Advanced Green Fee Patrons (AGFP) or $40 for non AGFP’s. Includes greens fees, cart, meal and range practice from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm. Bring your friends, co-workers or battle buddies for a great afternoon of golfing.  Food and beverages are provided at each event. The Lake of the Ozarks Recreation Area (LORA) will be hosting their annual Bass Tournament starting at 7:00 am (or first safelight), weigh-in is at 3:00 pm. Entry fee per boat is $40 and an optional $10 fee for Big Bass. There must be at least one CAC card holder per boat. Stop by the Outdoor Adventure Center or LORA for entry forms/rules. The Fort Leonard Wood 5K Fun Run/Walk is scheduled to take place the 2nd Saturday of each month at Davidson Fitness Center beginning at 8:00 am. Come a bit early (7:45M) and join our professional Personal Trainer for some pre run/walk stretches! Bring the little ones for a Kid’s Half Miler walk/run on a specially marked route! The event is FREE and open the public, all are welcome to include strollers and dogs on a leash. First 3 dogs to cross the finish line get a ribbon.   CONCEALED CARRY WEAPONS CLASS
The Outdoor Adventure Center (OAC) is hosting Concealed Carry Weapons Class; the first step in acquiring a Missouri CCW endorsement including weapons qualification on the range. Class is 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. Cost is $15 to register, $65 day of class. Each student must bring a photo ID, Eye & Hearing Protection, and either a Semi-automatic handgun or revolver (Plus 40 rounds of ammo), lunch money or food. Handgun must be in good working condition. Class is open to the public 21 yrs. and older. Interested patrons must be registered the day prior to each class at the Outdoor Adventure Center located in Bldg. 2290 FLW K Road. For more information call 573-596-4223.  Individuals bringing a privately owned weapon onto the installation for authorized activities such as hunting, dog training activities or marksmanship events, are required to register weapons. Privately owned weapons can be registered between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, at the Main Gate Visitor Control Center, Building 100. Registration form is available online at www.wood.army.mil/LEC/SOB/Privately%20Owned%20Weapons.html Registrations may take up to one week to process.  Additionally, anyone wishing to bring a firearm onto FLW is required to declare the firearm with proof of registration.  Firearms and ammunition must be stored separately, i.e. firearm in the trunk and ammunition in the passenger compartment.   For more information, call the Physical Security Section of the Provost Marshal’s Office at 573.596.0131 ext. 6-0597 Concealed Carry Permits (CCP), regardless of state of issuance, are not authorized or recognized on Fort Leonard Wood.  See FLW Regulation 190-6 for transportation requirements and authorized purposes.

The Army Community Service is hosting Session 3 of Anger Management.   FERMENTED COLORS / SPRING
The Arts and Crafts Frame Shop is hosting Feeling Lucky; a new and trendy painting class! Enjoy the relaxed atmosphere while socializing, painting and enjoying the beverage of the night. Painting Class is from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Pershing Community Center. Cost is $50 and includes 2 tickets for cocktails and a take home 16 x 20 acrylic canvas painting that you have created. Pershing Community Center is located in Bldg. 4109 Piney Hills Drive. Family & MWR invites you to the Drive in Movie, featuring “Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day”. Enjoy a movie with friends and family under the stars or from the comfort of your very own car; audio provided via FM signal through your radio! Movie begins at 8:30 pm and will take place at the Audie Murphy Community Center parking lot. Movie is FREE and open to the public. Bring your own blanket and chairs. No pets allowed.   BASS TOURNAMENT / OPEN to the PUBLIC
The Lake of the Ozarks Recreation Area (LORA) will be hosting their annual Bass Tournament starting at 7:00 am (or first safelight), weigh-in is at 3:00 pm. Entry fee per boat is $40 and an optional $10 fee for Big Bass. There must be at least one CAC card holder per boat. Stop by the Outdoor Adventure Center or LORA for entry forms/rules.   3D ARCHERY TOURNAMENT
The Outdoor Adventure Center is hosting their annual Archery Tournament from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm. Tournament will be a normal 3D shoot, a great opportunity to test your capabilities in judging yardage and shot placement. Registration will begin at 10:00 am. Family & MWR will be hosting Trivia Night Saturday April 18 at 7:00 pm. Get your team of up to 6 players together and come out for a fun, challenging night of trivia. Test your wits at this interactive trivia night filled with challenges and laughs; enjoy good company, food and drinks at your Pershing Community Center. Teams of up to 6 players will compete for the title of “Trivia Night Masters”.
