Family & MWR, the NFL and the St. Louis Rams present NFL Play 60. NFL Play 60 is the NFL's campaign to encourage kids to be active for 60 minutes a day in an effort to reverse the trend of childhood obesity. Registration and check in begins at 3:30 pm; event starts at 4:00 pm and will be held at Gerlach Field. Davidson Fitness Center kicks off your Independence Day with “These Colors Don’t Run” a 5K Color Run. Run starts promptly at 8:00 am at Davidson Fitness Center. The Piney Valley Golf Course would like to invite you to participate in our “9 Hole Twilight League Tournament!” There will be two different tournaments; each lasting 10 weeks. The 10 week tournament registration fees are $25 for a 3 person team or $30 for a 4 person team; or you can register for both tournaments. (20 week) registration fee is $50 for a 3 person team or $60 for a 4 person team. (Price does not include weekly $6 green fee, or optional $6 cart fee) Tee Time is 5:00 pm Wednesdays.   RED, WHITE, & BLUE GOLF TOURNAMENT

The Piney Valley Golf Course is hosting a Red, White & Blue Golf Tournament in celebration of Independence Day; shot gun start at 9:00 am. Breakfast will be available for purchase starting at 8:00 am. Tournament is a two person scramble, teams will tee off of red tees, white tees, and blue tees. Each set of tees will be using different formats (scramble, Best Ball & Alternate Shot).   MWR INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION

A family-friendly Independence Day Celebration hosted by Fort Leonard Wood and Family & MWR will be held on Saturday, July 4, 2015. Join family, friends and service members from all branches to celebrate our country’s birthday as we gather to enjoy this exciting red-white-and-blue extravaganza.

The celebration starts at 3:00 pm on Gammon Field, on Iowa Ave with a Car Show, petting zoo, pony rides, Salute to the Union, and live entertainment by the 399th Army Band and the Classic Rock Experience - featuring the Music of Queen,  Styx,  Journey,  Boston,  Led Zeppelin,  Elton John and a collection of Great 70's Rock Anthems and One Hit Wonders! The grand finale, the area’s largest firework display, will follow the Concert and light up the sky with a blaze of glory. The car show, activities, concert and fireworks are FREE and open to the public. Concessions will be available for purchase.

Event is festival seating; please bring your lawn chairs. For the safety and security of our Service Members and Families - no coolers, pets and fireworks allowed on the venue.

  Commander’s Golf Scramble
The Commander’s Golf Scramble will be hosted by the Piney Valley Golf Course with a shotgun start at 12:00 pm. Scramble consists of a 4 person team; cost is $30 for Advanced Green Fee Patrons (AGFP) or $40 for non AGFP’s. Includes greens fees, cart, meal and range practice from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm. Bring your friends, co-workers or battle buddies for a great afternoon of golfing.  Food and beverages are provided at each event.   BASS TOURNAMENT
The Lake of the Ozarks Recreation Area (LORA) will be hosting their annual Bass Tournament starting at 7:00 am (or first safelight), weigh-in is at 3:00 pm. Entry fee per boat is $40 and an optional $10 fee for Big Bass. There must be at least one CAC card holder per boat. Stop by the Outdoor Adventure Center or LORA for entry forms/rules. The Fort Leonard Wood 5K Fun Run/Walk is scheduled to take place the 2nd Saturday of each month at Davidson Fitness Center beginning at 8:00 am. Come a bit early (7:45M) and join our professional Personal Trainer for some pre run/walk stretches! Bring the little ones for a Kid’s Half Miler walk/run on a specially marked route! The event is FREE and open the public, all are welcome to include strollers and dogs on a leash. First 3 dogs to cross the finish line get a ribbon. Ask about our Fun Run Punch Cards – run 7 out of 9 runs and get a FREE T-shirt!  Join others on a fun run/walk and gather information regarding health and fitness.   CONCEALED CARRY WEAPONS CLASS
The Outdoor Adventure Center (OAC) is hosting Concealed Carry Weapons Class; the first step in acquiring a Missouri CCW endorsement including weapons qualification on the range. Class is 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. Cost is $15 to register, $65 day of class. Each student must bring a photo ID, Eye & Hearing Protection, and either a Semi-automatic handgun or revolver (Plus 40 rounds of ammo), lunch money or food. Handgun must be in good working condition. Class is open to the public 21 yrs. and older. Interested patrons must be registered the day prior to each class at the Outdoor Adventure Center located in Bldg. 2290 FLW K Road. For more information call 573-596-4223.  Individuals bringing a privately owned weapon onto the installation for authorized activities such as hunting, dog training activities or marksmanship events, are required to register weapons. Privately owned weapons can be registered between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, at the Main Gate Visitor Control Center, Building 100.
