October 13 / PUMPKIN PAINTING CLASS Need pumpkin carving or painting ideas? Sign up for the Frame Shop’s Pumpkin Painting Class, get great tips on carving or painting a pumpkin! Class is from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at the Audie Murphy’s Community Center located in Bldg. 7391 Buckeye Avenue. Cost is $7 per person. Don’t forget to enter your pumpkin at the Pumpkin Fest Boo-tiful Frightfully Fun Pumpkin Contest held on October 22 from 11:00 am – 2:30 pm. Event is open to the public. October 14 / NIGHT GOLF Have lots of fun on the course golfing at night with glow in the dark golf balls and chemical lights at Piney Valley Golf Course Night Golf beginning at 5:00 pm. Cost is $35 per person, non-members / $30 per person for members, meal included. Each team will play 9 holes in daylight and the rest of the round after dark. Don’t forget to grab yourself a bowl of chili at the turn. Prizes will be awarded for 1st-3rd place and for most “off-the-wall” dressed team. Night golf is open to the public. ONE ghoulish night of Haunted Hold ‘em, marathon play! Register the day of event at 5:30 pm, play starts at 6:00 p.m., at the Pershing Community Center. Cost is $20 per person. Come in a mask and receive an additional drawing entry. Event is open to the public 18 yrs. and older. OCT 14 / B.O.S.S. HAUNTED HOUSE The Fort Leonard Wood Boss Program dares you to enter the 2011 Haunted House*. You've heard the stories; now experience it for yourself: the hair raising, shiver-inticing, unexplained mysteries. The BOSS Haunted House will be held at Joint Services Park (across from the Hospital). Haunted House will be open 6:30pm - 11:00pm. Entrance fee is $5 for ages 11 yrs and older, $3 for children 10yrs and younger. Open to the public. For more information call 573 596-6912. October 14 & 15 / LORA’S 4th ANNUAL HAUNTED HAYRIDE
The Lake of the Ozarks Recreation Area is hosting their 4th Annual Haunted Hayride from 7:30 pm – 10:00 pm. Hay ride around LORA’s grounds with ghosts, goblins, and other scary creatures. This will be your scariest experience by the water. Cost is FREE and open to the public. The Lake of the Ozarks Recreation Area is located on 789 Olney Circle, Linn Creek, MO. October 22 / PUMPKINFEST / CONTESTS
Celebrate the bounty of the fall season at Family & MWR’s Pumpkin Fest! Enjoy great family activities like hay rides, kids zone, performances by the 399th Army Band and Scott Porter, and pumpkin themed activities to include a pumpkin pie eating contest, pumpkin chuckin’, little pumpkin costume contest and parade, pumpkin pie walk, best pumpkin pie in the Ozarks contests, and more. Admission is FREE; additional costs for some activities. Event is open to the public. Fest will be held at the Rec Plex from 11:00 am – 4:00 pm. A variety of vendors will be onsite. Too little for a big scare this Halloween? Boys and ghouls, ages 5 weeks to 5 years, are invited to attend the CYS Services Fall Festival Fun Night from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at the Pippin Youth Center. The Fall Festival Fun Night will have a variety of activities including bounce house, face painting, games, a maze and much more. Dress up because a costume contest will be the highlight of the night with prizes awarded for the “best dressed.” Event is FREE and open to the public. November 5 / HAUNTED HOUNDS PET PARADE - REGISTER ONLINE
Calling all pets and pet-owners, come out to the Paw Park and let your costumed buddy strut their stuff! There will be prizes for scariest, smallest, largest, funniest, and best dog and owner costume. Parade will take place at the Paw Park located on Constitution Avenue at 1:00 pm.
