    October 11 & 12  / LORA’S 6th ANNUAL HAUNTED HAYRIDE 

 

The Lake of the Ozarks Recreation Area is hosting their 6th Annual Haunted Hayride from 7:00 pm – 10:00 pm. Hay ride around LORA’s grounds with ghosts, goblins, and other scary creatures. This will be your scariest experience by the water. Event is FREE and open to the public. Book a cabin and spend the weekend. See LORA's highlights by day and haunts by night!

    Starts OCT 18 / B.O.S.S. HAUNTED HOUSE

The Fort Leonard Wood Boss Program dares you to enter the 2012 Haunted House*. You've heard the stories; now experience it for yourself: the hair raising, shiver-inticing, unexplained mysteries. The BOSS Haunted House will be held at a very scary location - Bldg 712 Utah St (Map). $5/person. Open to the public. For more information call 573 596-6912.

October 31 - Time 5pm - 9pm

October 19/ ZOMBIE ARCHERY

Are you prepared for the impending zombie invasion? Perfect your aim at the Outdoor Adventure Center before the Apocalypse hits. 10:00 am – 2:00 pm; Zombie Archery Hunt is $5 for youth and $10 for adult. (Target Zombies at archery hunt). Open to the public all age groups. The Outdoor Adventure Center is located in Bldg. 2290 FLW K Road. For more information call 573-596-4223.

October 19 / ZOMBIE PAINTBALL

We warned you, the Zombie apocalypse is at the Outdoor Adventure Center. Shoot one before they shoot you!  Registration begins at 10:00 am, 5 on 5 tournament begins at noon. Zombie Paintball Hunt is $10 for a 5 person team, receive $5 off if you come dressed as Zombies.  A $20 basic paintball rental package is available if you need it. Bring your friends to help you; the more the scarier! No team? Come anyway and OAC will make an effort to pair you up! Open to the public ages 10 and up.      October 25 / ROCKIN' HALLOWEEN PARTY

BlackJack Bar & Grill presents their 6th Annual Halloween Party. Join us for great entertainment, snacks and prizes. Come dressed in your craziest costume for a spooky contest. Bash begins at 8:00 pm. NO cover charge. Event is open to the public, 21 yrs. and older. The BlackJack Bar & Grill is located inside Pershing Community Center in Bldg.

 October 26 / PROJECT BEAR ESSENTIALS

This 45-minute program focuses on children ages 3-11. Kids will have the opportunity to discuss their life as a Military child, receive recognition for their service and will go home with a bear and a book.

     October 26 /  MILITARY KIDS FIT FOR LIFE

MWR and Little Patriots Embraced present Military Kids Fit for Life, hosted by Shawn Jenkins, creator of Hollywood Extreme Lifestyle. Shawn Jenkins has helped create the custom fitness program for Military Kids! The fitness program is scheduled for 10:00 am at the Rec Plex. Following the demonstration and kid’s fitness class is a short walk around Gammon Field scheduled for ALL kids and their parents! Then head back to the Rec Plex for Pumpkinfest, starting at 12:00 pm (see below)! The Rec Plex is located in Bldg. 640 Constitution Avenue.

October 26 / PUMPKIN FEST

Celebrate the bounty of the fall season at Family & MWR’s Pumpkin Fest Enjoy great family activities to include hayrides, mini golf, go carts, face painting, youth costume parade. Enjoy live entertainment by teen singing sensation, Jenna Rose, provided by the Little Patriots Embrace program. Cost is $8/Adults, $4/children 4yrs & up, 3yrs and under free. Event is open to the public and will be held at the Rec Plex from 12:00 am – 4:00 pm (see timeline below). Food and beverage are available for purchase.

Family & MWR will host our annual Oktoberfest celebration, 3:00pm - 10:00pm at the Pershing Community Center. Enjoy traditional german food ($10 Buffet), music, games and activities and of course the beiergarten! Join us for this great community event! Feiren sie freunde an Oktoberfest - Prost!

     October 27 / THE GREAT PUMPKIN SHOOT

 

The Outdoor Adventure Center is hosting “The Great Pumpkin Shoot.” Try a new way of carving your pumpkin this year! No paper patterns, no saws or scraper scoops, you will be using bow and arrows or shotgun! See how creative you can be. Carving is from 11:00 am – 4:00 pm and cost $5 per person. The Outdoor Adventure Center is located in Bldg. 2290 FLW K Road.

October 30 / FALL FESTIVAL FUN NIGHT

Too little for a big scare this Halloween? Boys and ghouls, ages 5 weeks to 5 years, are invited to attend the CYS Services Fall Festival Fun Night from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at the Pippin Youth Center. The Fall Festival Fun Night will have a variety of activities including bounce house, face painting, games, a maze and much more. Dress up because a costume contest will be the highlight of the night with prizes awarded for the “best dressed.” Event is FREE and open to the public. October 31 / TRICK OR TREATING - FORT LEONARD WOOD 

 

Trick or Treating on Fort Leonard Wood will be held October 31, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Little ghosts and gobblins will be wandering, please remember to take additional care.

 
       
 

October 31 / XTREMELY SPOOKTACULAR BOWL-A-FUN 

 

Enjoy a night of an x-tremely spooktacular bowling with spooky lights and sounds at the Daugherty Bowling Center. Games are $1 / $2 shoe rentals when you come in a costume, regular price without costume. Don’t forget to join us for the costume contest beginning at 4:00 pm, winners will be announced at 8:00 pm.
