Newcomer’s Orientation is held at the Pershing Community Center (Bldg 4109 Piney Hills Dr (573) 596-0753) every 3rd Wednesday of the month (January-November) at 8:30 am. Newcomer’s is designed for newly arrived military personal, their spouses and new civilian personnel. Newcomer’s is an excellent opportunity to learn more about Fort Leonard Wood and the surrounding communities. Along with several short briefs and a film about Fort Leonard Wood there will also be numerous displays to provide information about activities and agencies on and off post. FREE Child Care is available (See below). A bus tour of Fort Leonard Wood is offered after the briefing for those wishing to attend. (The bus tour is optional) The POC for the Newcomers' Orientation is the Relocation Assistance Program, Army Community Services (ACS). Arrangements for child care can be made by contacting the Relocation Readiness Office at 596-0212. FREE Child Care is offered for the Newcomers Orientation but space is limited so make your reservations early. Child Care reservations may be made up to 5 days in advance of the scheduled orientation by calling the Central Registration Office (CRO) at 596-0238. A registration card must be filled out at the CRO, building 470, room 1114. A current shot record must be presented at the time of registration.
