Fort Leonard Wood has over 60,000 acres available for hunting; deer, turkey, wild hog and an abundance of small game, season for archery, firearms and muzzleloaders. You can purchase Missouri State and Fort Leonard Wood Hunting and Fishing permits. All personnel are reminded that a permit is required for recreational activities occurring outside of the main business, operational and housing areas on Fort Leonard Wood. Permits are available at Outdoor Adventure Center.
Everyone Ages 16-64 are required to have Missouri State fishing permits. Everyone regardless of age is required to have a $7 Missouri Trout permit if they choose to partake in trout fishing at Stone Mill Recreation Area.
Resident Fishing for the year $12, expires last day in February
Non-Resident Fishing $7.00 per day or $40.00 per year
Persons, age 7 and older, are required to obtain the Fort Leonard Wood Sportsman’s Permit. Everyone must watch a safety video shown 7 days per week 10am to 5:30pm. See below for prices. Everyone must watch the video yearly. Sportsmen’s Permits all expire February 28th.

Missouri State Hunting permits and regulations can be obtained at the Outdoor Adventure Center 7 days per week or from the MDC web page www.mdc.mo.gov Anyone born on or after January 1, 1967 is required to have a hunter education class prior to purchasing a firearms hunting permit. A hunter education certificate is honored from any state but certificate must be presented at time of purchase.
The Outdoor Adventure Center has 2 paintball fields available for play. There are 35 paintball guns available for rent. Anyone is welcome! Make reservation or play on a first come first serve basis.
Patrons with their own equipment must check in at the OAC and pay a $5 field fee.
** Outdoor Adventure Center now can order any firearms, archery, and any other sporting goods. We are the following dealers: Beretta, Browning, Remington, CZ, Winchester, Smith and Wesson, Mossberg, Marlin, as well as many other brands.
We also maintain a federal firearms license so we can provide intra state gun shipping and receiving.
A small fee is charged and a NICS background check is mandatory on all gun sales. Contact us for any further sports purchases.
Rental Equipment & Park Reservations:
The Outdoor Adventure Center (OAC) rents a variety of camping, boating and sports equipment. The Outdoor Adventure Center also sponsors various outdoor activities, coordinates park reservations, OAC schedules float trips and operates two paint ball fields.
Persons desiring to camp at the Big Piney Campgrounds must register in person at the OAC prior to entering or setting up in the campgrounds.
Register for the February 13 getaway trip to the beautiful ski slopes of Hidden Valley Ski Resort in Eureka, MO. Register from now thru February 5 at the Outdoor Adventure Center. Getaway is $65 per person; price includes bus fare, ski or snowboard rental, and lift ticket. Bus will depart at 8am from the ITR Office located at the Mini Mall and return no later than 6:30 pm. Open to authorized personnel.

Feb 6 BOW MAINTENANCE 101
The Outdoor Adventure Center will be hosting a bow maintenance 101 course for new and experienced bow shooters. Learn how to store your bow for the winter, bow string waxing, when to replace bow strings and much more. Class is FREE and open to the public, class will be held at the Outdoor Adventure Center from 10am-12pm. For more information call 596-4223.
Feb 27 KID’S TROUT DERBY
It’s fishing time…kid style! The Kid’s Fishing Derby will be hosted by the Outdoor Adventure Center at the Stone Mills Springs from 11am-2pm. Registration begins at 10am. Derby is free and open to kids ages 15 years and under (must be accompanied by an adult). Prizes will be awarded. A limited amount of fishing poles will be available; you are encouraged to bring your own. For more information call 596-4223.
Mar 6 FLY FISHING 101
The Outdoor Adventure Center will be hosting a FREE fly fishing clinic from 10am-4pm. Get great information from fly fishing techniques, different types of rods, and the different flies used. Clinic will be taught by Walt Fulps of Missouri Trout Hunters Guide Service from Rolla.

Mar 8-9 HUNTER’S EDUCATION
The Outdoor Adventure Center in partnership with the Missouri Department of Conservation will be hosting a Hunter’s Education Class from 5-10pm. Student must be at least 11 yrs. old to participate.
