Fort Leonard Wood
has over 60,000 acres available for hunting; deer, turkey, wild hog and an
abundance of small game, season for archery, firearms and muzzleloaders.
All hunting and fishing state and local licenses & permits available at
the Outdoor Adventure Center. You can fish the Big Piney River plus
numerous ponds and lakes available on Fort Leonard Wood. The Trout
Management areas are open year round.

Operation Procedures & Regulations
The Outdoor Adventure
Center
has 2 paintball fields available for play. There are 35 paintball guns
available for rent. Anyone is welcome! Make reservation or play
on a first come first serve basis.
Patrons with their
own equipment must check in at the OAC and pay a $5 field fee.
The Outdoor Adventure
Center ATV Riding Area is open for recreational riding
7 day a week 10am to 6pm.

he riding area is adjacent to the
Outdoor
Adventure Center
and access to the area is controlled/check-in is at the
Outdoor
Adventure Center.
The 14 acre riding area requires each rider to have
had attended an ATV operators training course and have viewed the annual
safety video prior to operating their individual ATV on Fort Leonard Wood.
ATV Safety Institute Operators Certification
Course is given every Monday, Wednesday and the 2nd and 3rd
Saturday of each month. Cost of the course is

You can purchase
Missouri State and Fort Leonard Wood Hunting and Fishing permits. All
personnel are reminded that a permit is required for recreational activities
occurring outside of the main business, operational and housing areas on
Fort Leonard Wood. Permits are available at Sportsmen’s Center.
Everyone Ages 16-64
are required to have Missouri State fishing permits. Everyone regardless of
age is required to have a $7 Missouri Trout permit if they choose to partake
in trout fishing at Stone Mill Recreation Area.
Resident Fishing for the year $12, expires last day in February
Non-Resident Fishing $7.00 per day or $40.00 per year
Persons, age 7 and
older, are required to obtain the Fort Leonard Wood Sportsman’s Permit.
Everyone must watch a safety video shown 7 days per week 10am to 5:30pm.

Missouri State Hunting permits and regulations can be obtained at the
Outdoor Adventure
Center
7 days per week or from the MDC web page

purchasing a firearms hunting permit. A hunter education certificate
is honored from any state but certificate must be presented at time of
purchase.

Outdoor Adventure Center now
can order any firearms, archery, and any other sporting goods. We are the
following dealers:
Beretta, Browning,
Remington, CZ, Winchester, Smith and Wesson, Mossberg, Marlin, as well as
many other brands.
We also maintain a federal firearms license so we can provide intra state
gun shipping and receiving.
A small fee is charged and a NICS background check is mandatory on all gun
sales. Contact us for any further sports purchases.
Rental
Equipment & Park Reservations:
The Outdoor
Adventure Center (OAC) rents a variety of camping, boating and sports equipment. The
Outdoor Adventure Center also sponsors various outdoor activities, coordinates
park reservations, OAC schedules float trips and operates two paint ball fields.
Persons desiring
to camp at the Big Piney Campgrounds must register in person at the OAC
prior to entering or setting up in the campgrounds.
The Outdoor
Adventure Center will host 3d Archery Tournaments beginning March 29.
Normal 3d Shoots will offer a chance to test capabilities in judging
yardage and shot placement. Trophies will be awarded to 1st
and 2nd place winners in Adult Compound Bow, Adult Recurve
Bow and Youth Categories. Pre-registration is required.
Tournament will be held 8:30am-4pm. Course is comprised of 10
stations. Tournaments dates April 26, May 24,
June 21, July 26 and August 30.

5 on 5 Paintball Tournaments
Outdoor
Adventure Center
will sponsor a 5 on 5 player Paintball tournament
(#1 April 12, #2 May 10, #3 June 14, #4 July 19
and #5 Aug 16, 2008) from 10 am to completion. This
tournament will test your combat skills as a team. So get your buddies
together and see if you have the metal to win this tournament and
claim the title of Paintball Champion.
9 Week Trap Tournament
The
Outdoor
Adventure Center
is calling all Trap Shooters to join us for our 9 Week Trap League
being held April 28 until June 29, 2008
from 1000 to 1700 daily, Monday - Friday. The trap league will
consist of 9 weeks of competition ending with a trophy presentation
at its conclusion. League will consist of each participant shooting 50
shots (25 shots from the 16-yard line and 25 shots from the
handicapped yard line). Scores will be tallied at the end of each
day/round. Scores will be added each week to provide a running total
during the league and trophies will be awarded to the top 3 shooters.
Shooters may use their personal shotgun during the league along with
ammunition (7.5, 8 or 9 shot may be used). However, if a shooter
wishes to use one of the Outdoor Adventure Center shotguns ammunition
must be purchased from us on the day of use.
July 22 Horseshoe
Tournament 2008
Are you old, young,
male or female; is hard hitting sports not your cup of tea or do you
enjoy the easier side of life. Then do we have the sport for you! Come
out to the Sportsmen’s Center on July 22, 2008 at 9am until complete and
try your hand in our Horse Shoe Pitching Tournament. This tournament is
a single elimination best two out of three match and will have a Male
only division, Female only division and a Mix division. Tournament will
be held at Colyer Park and trophies will be awarded to the top finisher
in each division and may the best team win. Pre-Registration at the OAC
Aug 9 Bow Hunting
Basics
So you want to be a
bow hunter or you want to be a better one, then come to the Outdoor
Adventure Center and enroll in our Bow Hunters Clinic. This clinic will
be held on Aug 9, 2008 from 0800 to 1200. Learn bow maintenance,
scenting/camouflage and tree climber basics, shooting and safety. Our
instructor is a proven expert and this is one clinic that can get you
started in or improve your skills as a bow hunter. Remember
pre-registration is required.
