About the Program

SKIES Gymnastic classes provide children with an opportunity to participate in gymnastics activities in a safe and positive learning environment. Children will have an opportunity to socialize, play and explore while developing their balance, coordination and self esteem while also learning the joy of physical movement. Our goal is to ensure every child reaches their full potential which is why our programs emphasize fun, discipline, use of the imagination, cooperation, team work, and the achievement of individual goals.

Objectives

  • Provide a safe enjoyable experience for participants with staff members who are genuinely concerned about your child’s progress and well being.
  • Provide sessions that are matched to the developmental level of the children involved.
  • Place your child in the class that will be most suitable while still challenging.
  • Place emphasis on strength and flexibility training that will enable your child to progress more rapidly and make learning more enjoyable while reducing the risk of injury.
  • Provide a low student/teacher ratio to help ensure every child receives the attention they need.
  • All participants must be enrolled with Child and Youth Services
  • All registrations will be done at Child and Youth Services Central Enrollment Registry, Bldg 470 Rm 1111, 596-0238
  • Registrations will not be accepted after the closing date!
  • Class size and availability are limited! Classes will be filled on a first come, first serve basis.
  • Registrations will not be accepted over the phone.

General Information

We have an outstanding staff of dedicated professionals who have seen the benefit of gymnastics training first-hand in their lives. Each instructor was chosen for their teaching ability as well as their knowledge of gymnastics and love for children. Through their classes they will promote respect for others, cooperation and fun.

All of our staff are Gymnastics Safety Certified by USA Gymnastics and have their CPR and First Aid Certification.

Some of the younger children's’ classes require parental involvement.  For other classes your child’s instructor will let you know if they are in need of your assistance.

Parents and siblings are to remain in the seating area provided for you. Parents must not leave the building during the class period.

Girls should wear leotards with shorts or sweats over it. Boys should wear soft shorts and t-shirts. Long hair should be pulled back into a ponytail and all jewelry should be left at home.
