Programs

 
Youth Services (YS)

YS provides a wide variety of programs.   The programs vary slightly each year, but most offer all basic sports, camps, special events, and field/study trips.  Depending upon the program, they are available to children three to 18 years of age.  There are also a variety of recreation programs for middle and high school youth, many at no cost.  Please see the Program Activities section for more information.  All youth participating in YS programs must be registered through the Parent Central Services.

Orientation:  All parents must attend an orientation prior to attending YS.  Please contact the Parent Central Services for more information on scheduling an orientation.

The Pippin Youth Center offers a wide range of activities for youth 6th-12th grade. These activities include Open Recreation, dances, Lock-ins, parties and day-trips and day camps. Open Recreation is held Monday-Friday and Saturdays. Times vary on Friday evenings due to special events.

The Youth Center also provides a daily after-school program called the ACE (Activities, Crafts, Education) Club. Various activities and a free snack provided for youth in grades 6-8 Monday thru Friday 2:30pm-4:30pm. Other activities are:

  • An Annual Youth Talent Show in April
  • Computer lab and Homework Lab.
  • Gymnasium for volleyball, basketball, indoor sports, dances, martial arts and gymnastics
  • Wide Screen TVs, video games, pool tables, ping pong and other games Various clubs are offered such as Boys & Girls Clubs of America and 4H Club
  • The Youth Center also has a Youth Sponsorship Program. If you are new to the area or will be coming to Fort Leonard Wood soon you can e-mail us. We are able to answer questions you might have about the area, schools, recreational activities or anything else you might be interested in knowing before you get here. We have also provided a link to a page that has information that other youth who are already here think you might be interested in.

Where a "teen can be a teen"

The High School Lounge offers a variety after-school, evening and week-end activities for 9th-12th graders. Teens can amuse themselves with pool & ping pong tables, a big screen TV, plus Play Station and Wii game systems.  The High School Lounge plans lock-ins, trips and tournaments for area teens.
